Through our experience we have developed an approach to delivering projects that removes the verbosity of traditional, paper heavy projects and aims to deliver fast, targeted projects that maximize productivity and remove the need for extensive scoping documents that, in reality, very few people read with the degree of care that is required.
This approach still comprises the traditional phases of a project, but aims to keep the teams focused on the critical, key business processes and reporting. We refer to this as the “Day in the Life” (DITL) methodology.
The core of this method is based on using the Microsoft product as a tool to model and prototype the system against the key processes and reporting. In doing this we build and demonstrate to the users exactly how the system would work for their business in a normal, day-to-day operation.
We’ll go through the Day in the Life Workshop where we’ll spend a number of days onsite with key users in the business to identify the critical or key business processes that make up a typical day in the life. Then, having captured the key requirements, we build a prototype of the system. We then present the key processes back to the appropriate audiences in the live system. Following the presentation, the processes are documented and storyboarded along with any additional requirements brought forward during the Playback.
Once the DITL phase of the project has been completed we will start the actual company build and do any required customizations and development. In addition, we’ll work with you to complete any reports and workflow set ups. We’ll also complete any integrations necessary.
We will provide the key users with final training and they’ll work on user acceptance testing where they’ll adopt to the system and we’ll answer their questions, allowing the users to feel comfortable in the system before Go Live.
During our Go Live Phase we’ll complete the final data migration, provide any refresher training, cut off from previous systems and yes, Go Live! After Go Live our team is right there with you either on site or remote to support your team with any questions that may come up. When the project is complete, our team is available to you for ongoing support in the system and other areas of your business.
We believe that a documented implementation plan, frequent open communication during the implementation process, and written detailed procedures are all critical elements of a successful implementation of accounting software.
